Kentucky is urging residents to avoid Easter service due to (COVID-19). Kentucky is also mandating any individual attending these services to stay in quarantine for 14 days. Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky acknowledged that officials are aware of about six churches holding service even within these circumstances. Kentucky police will keep in record the attendees’ license plate and notify them for defying violations of orders issued by state officials.

With this virus becoming even more virulent, it is crucial for the state to take precautions. There are dozens being left sick, and multiple people dead in Hopkins County. There are at least 1,693 confirmed cases of the Covid-19 and 90 deaths in Kentucky so far.

As precautions are taken in Kentucky, one official has disagreed with Kentucky’s governor's choices. In a tweet on 4/10/20, Sen. Rand Paul, who is recovering from COVID-19, criticized the governor by stating, “Taking license plates at church? Quarantining someone for being Christian on Easter Sunday? Someone needs to take a step back here.”

Even with some backlash from officials, Kentucky’s governor believes "[t]he next couple of weeks being absolutely critical not only to us blunting or flattening the curve but really protecting those that are most vulnerable, especially our seniors that are in different types of assisted living facilities."

Despite the ban on mass gatherings and travel restrictions, the governor has allowed the Easter Bunny to travel and work during the weekend, who is also considered an “essential worker.”

The U.S recorded 2,074 deaths on Friday, which is the largest increase since the beginning of this outbreak. The estimation of the total of reported deaths is 18,777. According to Johns Hopkins University's tally of cases in the US, more than 530,400 people have tested positive.
