A California court ordered President Trump to pay $44,000 in legal fees to actress, Stormy Daniels. This is in regard to her legal battle over her efforts to cancel a hush-money deal brokered to keep her quiet about their sexual relationship.

The Superior Court in Los Angeles finalized Daniels' win in her lawsuit against Trump over the agreement that was signed two days before the 2016 presidential election. The deal established that the losing party must pay for the lawyer fees.

The President’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, paid $130,000 to Daniels. Soon after the presidential election, Daniels sued to void the agreement.

Daniels' argument about the non-disclosure arrangement was withdrawn before going to court or arbitration. Trump's attorney said Daniel’s did not win the case and was thus not entitled to fees for lawyers, but Judge Robert Broadbelt III disagreed with this decision on Monday, as posted by Daniels' attorneys online.

Additionally, she sued Trump for defamation after the President’s comments about her on the social media platform Twitter. The defamation case has now been dismissed. In that case, the judge found that Trump's Twitter comments had been protected speech under the First Amendment.

Daniels has continued her career in the adult entertainment industry. She has also openly talked about the president on Twitter. Meanwhile, Cohen pleaded guilty to charges and was sentenced to three years in prison in 2018.
