미 고등학생 및 대학생을 위한 2021 "위안부" 에세이 콘테스트

위안부행동(CARE)에서는 자라나는 차세대들에게

세계여성인권문제로서의 "위안부" 문제를 알리기 위해

미국에서 고등학교와 대학교에 다니는 학생들을 대상으로 한

2021년 에세이 콘테스트를 개최합니다.

 

우승자: 고등학교 및 대학교 부문에서 각 한(1)명에게 $1,000의 상금

입상자: 고등학교 및 대학교 부문에서 (TBD) 각 $500의 상금 

 

수상자 발표는 "위안부 기림의 날"인 8월14일 오전 11시(엘에이 시간)에 열리는

온라인 기념행사에서 이루어지며,

2021 Essay Contest in Commemoration of the International Memorial Day for “Comfort Women”

 

Extended Submission Deadline:

11:59pm PDT, July 30, 2021

 

In response to a few inquiries, we have extended the deadline to July 30, 2021 for all entrants. We hope this will ensure enough time for everyone to prepare the paper. The theme of the contest is "Whose His/Her Story" and focuses on the memoirs of two "comfort women" survivors: Maria Rosa Henson (Philippines) and Jan Ruff O'Herne (Netherlands).

 

HIGH SCHOOL and UNDERGRADUATE students attending schools in the US can enter. Inquire with us if you have any specific questions about your qualification to enter.

 

One (1) winner in each category will receive $1,000 award.

Finalists (TBD) will each receive $500 award.

Our guest judges will introduce the winners and finalists during our online event to commemorate 4th International Memorial Day for "COMFORT WOMEN" on August 14, 2021 at 11am.

REMINDER:  We are still gathering signatures in support of survivor Lee Yong-soo’s final campaign to refer “comfort women” issues to the U.N. International Court of Justice.   

 

Your signature is crucial to demonstrate widespread interest in a lasting resolution to this historic injustice.  As of today, there are 180+ signatures representing 15 countries
