Atlanta Rapper King Von Dies at Age 26
Rapper King Von was one of two people fatally shot on Friday, November 6, 2020. This incident occurred during a gunfight early in the morning in front of a Monaco Hookah Lounge. Four other people were wounded by gunfire, stated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, who were investigating the shooting because police officers ended up firing their weapons at the scene.
Two groups of gang members (O’Block and Black Disciples) argued in the parking lot at around 3:30 a.m. An off-duty Atlanta police officer who was working at the nightclub and an officer who was patrolling nearby made it to the scene after the shootings of the two gangs. After the incident, three people were found dead and two injured, according to the Atlanta Police Department. The GBI has not confirmed this account and is still working to determine who fired the fatal rounds that killed the rapper and the two other unidentified men.
King Von grew up in a section of Parkway Gardens on Chicago's South Side known as 'O'Block,' which is considered one of the most dangerous blocks in the city of Chicago. He faced many charges such as armed robbery and three other arrests as a minor. Von joined the gang lifestyle and signed to the record label "Empire". He recorded hit songs such as “Take Her to The O” which has 30 million views along with the release of a new album “Levon James” which made it to the top 100 Billboard chart.
"The 26-year-old artist left us just as the world was beginning to grasp the depths of his talents," King Von's publicist, Erin Ryan said in a statement. "He was a devoted father, a deeply loyal friend, and a man who took care of his people before himself. We are heartbroken for his family, his friends, his team, and his fans." Rip King Von.
