Young Thug, Gunna, and 26 More YSL Records Affiliates Arrested on RICO…
On Monday, May 9, Jeffry Williams, better known as Young Thug, was arrested after police raided his home. Two days later, either Sergio Kitchens, or Gunna, was also indicted. 26 more affiliates of Young Stoner Life Records were arrested as well, all accused of conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), along with numerous other felonies.
The two rappers are being held without bail in Fulton County Jail. Judge Robert Wolf states that Young Thug is a flight risk, and that “he has a lot of support outside the state of Georgia, [so] it might be hard to get him back to the state.”
There are 56 charges in total, with the felonies occurring between January 24, 2013, and May 8, 2022. “There are definitely many people that are looking at life under this indictment,” said District Attorney Fani Willis.
Another prominent YSL rapper, Lil Keed, was not indicted with any RICO charges. However, the 24-year-old died Friday, May 13. Lil Keed’s death was confirmed by his younger brother, Lil Gotit, though the cause is still unknown. The relativity in time between the RICO charges and Lil Keed’s death are definitely suspicious and will be investigated.
