On October 6, 2022, a mass shooting occurred in a daycare center in Uthia Sawan, Thailand. 36 people had lost their lives, and 24 were children aged from 2 to 5. This deadly incident shocked people all around the world.

The attacker is identified as Panya Kamrab, a former police officer who was fired earlier in the year for a drug charge. The police are also seeing that he had taken drugs during the incident.

Kamrab was looking for his stepson in the daycare where his son enrolled, but he was not present at that time and Kamrab started shooting and stabbing the staff and students in the daycare. The witnesses from the teachers said that he broke into the daycare even though the door was locked and he mainly used his knife.

He fled with his car after he got out of the daycare and also shot 10 adults and 1 child while driving. The police surrounded his house, but he had already committed suicide and was found dead.

Thailand is rated as having the second highest gun ownership in southeastern Asia and from this incident, it is predicted that the problem with gun ownership will be rising.
